What to do? The best thing is to do it simply\u00a0<strong>a walk to the center<\/strong>\u00a0and discover its most famous streets with their squares and fountains.<\/p><p>You can\u00a0<strong>take the metro to get to Piazza di Spagna<\/strong>: its famous staircase and the atmosphere of the square will give you an extraordinary welcome! From this moment on the route will continue on foot.<\/p><p>You will cross Via Condotti (one of the most important commercial streets) until you reach Via del Corso. Turning left and walking down this street, you will arrive at Piazza Colonna (where the\u00a0<strong>Column of Marcus Aurelius<\/strong>) and, two streets further on, you will take Via delle Muratte on the left.<\/p><p>A few meters away you will see one of the images you will never forget: the Trevi Fountain. An extraordinary place to stop for a few minutes and,\u00a0<strong>if you believe in the legend, you can throw a coin into the water<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Going back towards Via delle Muratte, you will cross Via del Corso and continue along Via di Pietra. In just 5 minutes you will reach the Pantheon,\u00a0<strong>the best preserved building of the Roman Empire<\/strong>. You can rest while enjoying an excellent coffee in one of the bars in the square.<\/p><p>Leaving Piazza della Rotonda behind you, you can take the Salita dei Crescenzi. Following the signs, you will arrive at Piazza Navona, a\u00a0<strong>extraordinary place where you will contemplate the three famous fountains<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Reaching the southern part of the square (where there is the Fontana del Moro), you will arrive at Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, a wider road than those previously traveled. Crossing the road, to the left you will cross the<strong>Sacred Area, with archaeological sites that capture the attention of any tourist<\/strong>, especially when they are illuminated.<\/p><p>Continuing in this direction, you will see the\u00a0<strong>Monument to Vittorio Emanuele II<\/strong>, a huge building dedicated to the first king of Italy. If you have time, you will see\u00a0<strong>Campidoglio square<\/strong>.<\/p><p>It will be late and after this walk you will surely want to rest. We recommend\u00a0<strong>to reach the Vatican no later than 9 in the morning<\/strong>.<\/p><p>To get to the Vatican City, you will have to\u00a0<strong>take the metro to the Ottaviano stop<\/strong>. Leaving the metro station, you can take via Ottaviano until you reach St. Peter&#039;s Square.<\/p><p>When you have started to breathe again (the image of the square takes your breath away!), Queue up to enter the\u00a0<strong>Basilica of San Pietr<\/strong>or, the most important temple of Catholicism!<\/p><p>If you want to contemplate extraordinary views,\u00a0<strong>you cannot miss those of the dome, from which you can observe Rome from its 136 meters high<\/strong>. Getting to the dome takes effort and is a little distressing, but that&#039;s part of its charm.<\/p><p>Once you get off the dome, you can leave St. Peter&#039;s Square and follow the signs to get to the Vatican Museums. If you&#039;re lucky, you won&#039;t find a long queue and you can get in quickly.\u00a0<strong>If you love art and are interested in exploring museums, you will spend several hours in this exhibition center<\/strong>, even if only to contemplate Michelangelo&#039;s masterpiece:\u00a0<strong>The Sistine Chapel<\/strong>.<\/p><p>After your visit to the Vatican you can\u00a0<strong>take Via della Conciliazione from Piazza San Pietro<\/strong>. From this road you will arrive at Castel Sant&#039;Angelo and the homonymous bridge, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in Rome. If you want you can visit Castel Sant&#039;Angelo.<\/p><p>Crossing the bridge and following the signs, you will have no problem getting to Piazza Navona and the Pantheon, which during the day\u00a0<strong>you can visit<\/strong>.<\/p><p>If there is still sunlight and you want to rest a little, you can go to the gardens of\u00a0<strong>Villa Borghese<\/strong>, to take a relaxing walk.\u00a0<strong>If you are traveling with children they will surely be happy!<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>In the evening you can simply stroll through the streets of the city\u00a0<\/strong>and let yourself be surprised by the wonders that you will discover in every corner. If you are tired of walking, you can <strong>take the metro to the Colosseo stop<\/strong>.<\/p><p>As soon as you step out of the metro, you will be dazzled by an extraordinary architectural work: the\u00a0<strong>Colosse<\/strong>or.\u00a0<strong>If you find a long queue (with more than 15 minutes waiting) you can visit the Roman Forum first<\/strong>\u00a0and then the Palatine mountain. The ticket is the same and afterwards you can visit the Colosseum, without having to wait too long in the queue.<\/p><p>After the visit, you can reach the Capitoline Hill from the north of the forum. Arriving at Piazza del Campidoglio,\u00a0<strong>don&#039;t miss the statue of Romulus and Remus<\/strong>!<\/p><p>Going down the steps of the square you will take Via del Teatro Marcello to the left. Less than 10 minutes you will reach the Church of Santa Maria di Cosmedin, where the Bocca della Verit\u00e0 is located.<\/p><p>Crossing the Tiber, you will arrive at\u00a0<strong>Trastevere, one of the favorite neighborhoods for travelers<\/strong>. The atmosphere in the area is authentic and its restaurants are good and cheap.
